People love getting individualized letters, but one letter you don't want is what's called a the target letter. That's a letter usually from a federal prosecutor stating that you are the target of a federal criminal investigation. What that means is, that it is very likely that the federal prosecutor intends to charge you with a federal crime and that your arrest is imminent. Very often these target letters will tell you, don't discuss this matter with anyone, you can discuss it with anyone you want, and the person you should be discussing it with immediately is a federal criminal defense attorney who can advise you what to do? You should not under any circumstances, call the prosecutor who signs the letter or call the agent who's mentioned in the letter or turn over documents that they're asking you to turn over, don't do anything but contact an experience federal criminal defense attorney if you get a target letter.
